A Reformation of the Soul

As we move into year 2020 (a new decade) it is important to understand that we cannot override spiritual laws (on any level) without a negative consequence. The consequences for not keeping the Word of God will consistently work against us and even nullify all positive confessions and prophecy. A word from God about our destiny requires compliance with His Word. A life opposite of what God requires (righteousness and holiness) to birth a prophecy will result in its annihilation. However, if we want to stay in God's will and have His favor in our lives, we must remain faithful and allow His Word to “reform” our spirit, soul, and body daily. If God’s Word doesn’t keep us in spiritual reformation (daily mind renewal), Satan will reform our mind to his ways of being and doing and we will become devoured by his demonic assassins (evil spirits).

For example, Josiah was a king whom God honored because he walked in the ways of the Lord. During his reign, he destroyed the demonic alters of Baal, graven images, Asherah poles, and all things related to witchcraft and idolatry. Josiah purified the land and the temple of God. He also appointed workers to repair the Temple of the Lord Almighty that was damaged by prior kingship. In the restoration process, Hilkiah found the Book of the Law in the Lord’s Temple (that was written by Moses) and handed it off to Shaphan. Shaphan took the scroll to King Josiah and read to him what was in it. When Josiah heard what was written in the Law of God, he tore his clothes in despair because they had not done everything that God’s Word said to do to be in right standing with Him. Josiah also realized that God’s anger had been poured out on them because their ancestors did not obey the Lord.

Josiah gave orders to Hilkiah and a few others to go to the Temple of God and speak to the Lord for him and all the remnant of Israel and Judah. Josiah also asked them to inquire about what was written in the scroll that was found. So Hilkiiah and the others consulted with prophetess Huldah. She confirmed God’s anger against them and the pending disaster/curses on the people and city.

Prophetess Huldah also sent this message from God to Josiah: “because you humbled yourself and tore your clothes in despair, wept before Me in repentance, I have decided to forfeit the promised disaster until after you die and are buried in peace.” After this Word from God, Josiah gathered all the people of Judah and Jerusalem in the Temple of God and he read to them the entire Book of the Covenant that was found in the Lord’s Temple. Josiah took his place as king and renewed the covenant in the Lord’s presence. He and all the people vowed to obey the Lord and keep all His commands, laws, and decrees. In addition, Josiah continued to remove all the idols from the entire land and required everyone to worship the Almighty God. Throughout the rest of Josiah's life, the people did not turn from their worship of God alone (see 2 Chronicles 34).

Here’s a prophetic word: In order for us to succeed in 2020 and beyond as Believers, we must destroy the idols (and all ungodly things) that take the place of God in our lives and allow His Word to bring reformation to our spirit, soul, and body. There is no success in Christ (on any levels), when we operate outside of God's original intent (which is His commands, laws, and decrees). Righteousness, holiness, and obedience are still requirements! For the Lord God says: “humble yourselves before Me and REPENT (change your mind and return to Him) before My grace runs out and destruction becomes your portion.”

We will never get God’s results if we refuse to abide by His Word. Nevertheless, there’s a fix to all errors in the individual and the body of Christ as a whole: “If My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves and pray, seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and "turn" from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 AMP
